I began my career at Day’s in the late 90s, working in the Service Department. Working in the Service Department piqued my interest in gemstones, so I began studying at the Gemological Institute of America. I obtained my Graduate Gemology degree in 2011. My favorite part about gemology is that every gem is different and unique. I’m always amazed when I see trigons on a diamond. It’s nature’s stamp of authenticity. Working at Day’s allows me to accomplish two things: work with wonderful people, and involve myself in fascinating work.

I started my career with Day’s Jewelers in 2005 in customer service while also performing appraisals. I have always been intrigued with jewelry, diamonds and gemstones. I started my career in 2001 when I decided to study at the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) where I earned the title of Graduate Gemologist. I had no prior experience in the jewelry industry but I knew that I wanted to become a gemologist and an appraiser. I earned my Accredited Jewelry Professional diploma with G.I.A. I also joined the Accredited Gemologists Association in 2007 and I am currently the only Accredited Senior Gemologist in the state of Maine. In 2010, I studied with the California Institute of Jewelry Training to earn my R.M.V. certification, and I am currently the only Registered Master Valuer™ in the state of Maine. In 2019, I became a Registered Jeweler with the American Gem Society, and in 2020, I became a Certified Gemologist with the American Gem Society. What I thrive on the most in the jewelry industry is the relationships that we are able to form with our customers! My favorite pieces of jewelry include colored gemstones, especially Tsavorite garnet. -Certified Gemologist (AGS) - Registered Jeweler (AGS) -Graduate Gemologist (GIA) -Accredited Jewelry Professional (GIA) -Accredited Senior Gemologist (AGA) -Registered Master Valuer (CIJT)
