Corey Family Honored at the JFC Facets Celebration

Some things matter more than what we sell.

The Corey family of Day's Jewelers was honored at the Jewelers for Children Facets Celebration in 2024, held each year during JCK Las Vegas. It's one of the industry's most meaningful evenings, gathering leaders from across the trade to recognize those whose commitment to children's charities runs deeper than a donation line.

In June 2024, that recognition came home to our family.

Joe Corey, President of Day's Jewelers, put it plainly: "We're in the business of love, and with love, comes responsibility." Jeff Corey, who built so much of what Day's is today, spoke of his father, who brought him to work at age five and whose birthday fell on the evening of the celebration. Ninety-seven years old, and still, in some way, in the room.

Discover how our dedication to love and family drives our commitment to supporting children's charities and making a difference in our communities through Jewelers for Children.

Jewelers for Children was founded by the jewelry industry to direct support toward children facing illness, abuse, and neglect. Over the years, it has donated millions of dollars to organizations including Make-A-Wish, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the National CASA Association. Day's Jewelers has been a partner in that work for many years, not as a campaign, but as a conviction.

One of the most quietly powerful moments of the evening was meeting Jayden, a Make-A-Wish child who reminded a room full of industry leaders what all of it is actually for. He said "even though you have very bad days, there's always going to be good days to rise you up again".

Our involvement with JFC takes several forms. Each year on the last Saturday of September, our stores participate in Annual JFC Day, a dedicated day of giving. We've hosted Make-A-Wish send-off celebrations at our Maine and New Hampshire locations for years, marking the start of something magical for children and their families. Since 2021, we've served as Guardian Sponsors of the CASA Cares event in New Hampshire, which has raised millions for children across the state.

In 2014, to mark our 100th year, we pledged to raise $100,000 for JFC. Our employees, customers, and community exceeded that, raising $102,300.

Giving is part of who we are. It has been for a long time, and it will continue to be.
