Last October Day's Jewelers nominated Camp Sunshine to the Jewelers for Children Local Grant Program where they were selected as one of ten children's organization in the nation to receive a $10,000 grant. This grant funded a trip to camp for 5 different families. In February we received a letter from one of the families that attended, thanks to the grant, that described Camp Sunshine as "A magical place with humble families who all understand each other."

Best of all, the families that attend can focus onrelaxing and having fun without the responsibilities that come withaccommodating and coping with a life threatening illness.its therapeutic setting since 1984.

This year's Local Grant Program launches October 6th and voting will begin. Day's Jewelers has once again nominated Camp Sunshineand we are looking for help to make sure Camp Sunshine is among the ten grant recipients for the second year running but we can only do it with your help.

In an "Ode to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" we would like to challenge YOU to the "Ray of Sunshine" Challenge! Your challenge, should you accept it, is to go to Jewelers for Children's Facebook page and vote for Camp Sunshine. Once you've done so, nominate 5 "Camp Buddies" to take the "Ray of Sunshine" Challenge, vote, and nominate 5 of their "Camp Buddies." Your efforts will help send five more families to camp and you don't even have to pour anything over your head!

The number of voteswill solely determine the top ten organizations that will receive the grant. By taking the "Ray of Sunshine" Challenge you'll help Camp Sunshine change lives with just the click of a mouse! One vote from you, $10,000 for Camp Sunshine. Is there an easier way to help a child and their family in need?

I was born and raised in Greenville, Maine on Moosehead Lake. I know better than most that there is something magical about being at camp. The smell of the trees, walks by the lake, and spending time with your family in the natural beauty of Maine has a way of rejuvenating the body and soul.

I was introduced to Camp Sunshine through a Key Club project in High School. One trip to Camp Sunshine and I was hooked!
