Buying jewelry can be exciting and exhilarating, but we know that this excitement can be accompanied closely with the stress of not knowing exactly what to look for. Each person has different preferences, needs, and style choices. That's where we come in! We're here to help you discover the best possible jewelry options for anyone's needs.
The first thing to think about when you are looking for jewelry for yourself or someone you love is what type of lifestyle the wearer has. While this may seem out of the ordinary, someone that is active may find that rings with higher settings and metals that tend to scratch
Frequently, jewelry owners wonder what the best way to protect their valuble pieces is. Regular cleaning? Keeping the pieces away from chemicals? We interviewed the in-house goldsmiths at Day's Jewelers and asked what the most common mistakes an owner can make when it comes to their jewelry, here are their top three answers!
#1. Sleeping in your jewelry
Bed sheets are sold by thread count. The more threads, the softer the sheet- to us! Our jewelry, on the other hand finds any sheet a hazardous encounter. Imagine yourself having to cross through a grouping of thorny rose bushes. Most of us would rather not cross at all. Bed sheets, having all of the woven threads, can act like sandpaper on the tips and prongs on rings pendants, and bracelets. This leads to premature wear, requiring costly maintenance more often.

You’re engaged, congratulations! In the midst of all of your planning and excitement, though, you may be letting one crucial step fall to the wayside: insuring your ring. Traditionally, the person who bought the ring is responsible for getting it insured, but in most cases, it comes down to just doing what’s best for you and your partner, so don’t dwell on this part too much.
There are a couple different types of insurance that you can get on an engagement ring. The first is a jeweler sponsored care plan. At Day’s Jewelers, we use Jewelers Mutual, or, JM Care Plans. The second type of insurance typically available to your fine jewelry is attaching the ring to your homeowners or renters insurance. There are a few different ways to do this, if you choose to go this route.
Summer is here, and as the days are getting warmer, we’re all gearing up to plan our summer vacations! So, whether you’re going on a bachelorette trip, a romantic summer getaway, or a fun family trip, this is your one-stop-shop for all 2022 summer jewelry trends, jewelry packing travel tips, and your vacation must-haves.
Of course, traveling with jewelry is not always the easiest. Tangled necklace chains, missing earring backings, and having to take off every ring you’ve ever owned at the airport are things we all dread. My favorite rule for traveling with jewelry is SIMPLICITY.
Your venue is booked, you've spent countless hours helping your partner plan the perfect day, and now it's time to find your wedding band. This is the part of the wedding that is all about you and, like engagement ring shopping, it doesn't have to be stressful! Whether you make it a cute afternoon date with your fiance, or go on your own to surprise each other with the rings you'll be wearing to celebrate your love, we want to make the experience as exciting, fun, and easy as possible!

Diamonds are nature’s most beautiful gift. They decorate our most prized possessions, adorn our fingers and ears with glamor and sparkle, and represent love, adoration, and commitment. So, in order to help you care for your diamonds to the best of your ability, I’m going to give you a list of some important diamond cleaning tips with varying degrees of time commitments attached!
The Soap and Water Method - One of the easiest and most common ways to clean and shine your diamonds, the s
One of a few June birthstones, pearls are seen as a symbol of sophistication, class, and professionalism. Owning pearls is viewed by many as a passage into adulthood, womanhood, or the professional world, and a simple string of pearls can be an incredibly sweet and symbolic gift from a mother or grandmother to a daughter. But, what do you do once you have them? Pearls can be intimidating to store and care for because of their notorious cleaning and care difficulty. However, it doesn’t have to be scary or stressful, and once you know the simple rules of pearl care, you’ll feel like a pro in no time!
We’ve all been there: we open up the jewelry box, pull out an old favorite, only to find the once shiny silver is now dull and tarnished.
You can clean your sterling silver, but wouldn’t it be nice to store your jewelry and not have to clean it when you pull it out to wear? In fact, preventing tarnish is much easier than cleaning tarnish, and keeping your sterling clean and tarnish-free will help your silver jewelry last longer. We’ve got a few great tips for keeping your sterling silver jewelry clean and tarnish-free. Find out how to keep that sterling silver jewelry looking as beautiful as the day you bought it.
Taking the CDC’s handwashing recommendations into account? Your body will thank you for preventative action, but your jewelry may not.
Water and soap won’t cause harm to most jewelry, but there are certain gemstones that should never be exposed to water. Hand sanitizer often contains alcohol, which can dry out or damage other gemstones. The lotion you put on your hands after all this excessive washing and sanitizing can turn your sparkling jewels into dull stones.
But lucky for you, Day’s has put together a great guide to keeping your jewelry in tip-top shape. Read on for our best advice on keeping your hands and jewelry clean.
