November 11, 2022A large part of the culture here at Day’s Jewelers centers around continued learning and education for the employees that put their time and energy into the company’s long standing goals. In January of 2022, Day’s Jewelers’ management team met to discuss strategic goals for the year and the decision was made to find a company-wide diamond training program to advance the diamond education of the team’s employees. On September 24, 2022, Day’s Jewelers will participate in Jewelers for Children’s annual fundraising day. This event celebrates the success of the jewelry industry’s ongoing support for children in need and raises awareness and funds for the many charities that Jewelers for Children supports. 2022 marks the fifth year that Day’s Jewelers has participated in this fundraiser, raising over $15,000 for the organization in that time span. This year, our stores have pledged to donate 5% of sales on September 24th (JFC Day) to contribute with other JFC-partnered jewelers to fundraising efforts. Jewelers for Childre ...Read more »

April 21, 2021Day’s Jewelers has promoted Joseph Corey as President of the 107-year-old Maine family business. The company is based in Waterville, Maine and operates 8 jewelry stores throughout New Hampshire and Maine. Corey replaces his father, Jeff Corey, and is the third generation of Coreys to be employed at Day’s. In 1938, 11-year-old Robert Corey, Joseph’s grandfather, got his first job at Day’s on Congress Street in Portland. The elder Corey became Manager of Day’s Caribou, Maine store in 1946. He left Day’s in 1955 to open his own store, Robert’s Jewelry in Madawaska, ME. In 1988, Robert’s sons, James Corey and Jeffery Corey and Jeff’s wife Kathy purchased Day’s from its original owners, Sidney and David Davidson. For the past three years, Joseph has held the position of Vice President of Store Operations at Day’s. February 15, 2021Diamonds Do Good, a global nonprofit organization whose mission is supporting programs that develop and empower people in countries where natural diamonds are mined, has elected Kathy Corey as Vice President to their Board of Directors. Kathy Corey, along with her husband Jeff, are owners of Day’s Jewelers. With eight stores in Maine and New Hampshire, plus a robust e-commerce website, Kathy keeps busy by serving as the Vice President of Merchandising and Human Resources within the company. Day’s Jewelers was recently named as one of the 2019 Best Places to Work in Maine. The awards program was created in 2006 and is a project of the Society for Human Resource Management - Maine State Council (MESHRM) and Best Companies Group. Partners endorsing the program include: Mainebiz, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Maine HR Convention. Day’s Nashua store has been selected as one of the top five choices for the INSTORE editors’ exterior, interior, marketing, and online presence categories. You can view the full article here. Our Nashua store started as a wish in May 2016. After opening our 7th store in Augusta, ME, Day’s wanted to construct a modern, contemporary store in New Hampshire that would be convenient to our customers as well as offer a comfortable browsing experience. The perfect location was found on 567 Amherst Street in Nashua, and construction eagerly began. June 17, 2019June is Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and as part of this month of recognition, a fundraising event happens every year on June 21. The Longest Day, an event signifying the care and patience that is required of cherished Alzheimer’s caretakers, occurs on the literal longest day of the year, the summer solstice. The number of fundraising events that will occur on June 21 vary; participants are encouraged to be creative in their events and meet the biggest goal possible. From the Longest Day’s website: “The Longest Day is the day with the most light — the summer solstice. On June 21, thousands of participants from across the world come together to fight the darkness of Alzheimer's through an activity of their choice.
