If you were born in October, you’re extra blessed with double birthstones to claim as your own!
Local to Maine, with a stunning variety of pigmented, brilliant color options, Tourmaline is one of the two beautiful October birthstones. A beautiful gem with an array of colors that are frequently compared to ripe fruit and rich, elegant beauty, tourmaline has a history as rich as its color!
More well known, Opal’s iridescence is sure to delight anyone who loves mysterious, elegant, and unique gemstones. Opal is October’s second birthstone and is mined in Brazil, the Western United States, Mexico, Hondouras, and, most notably, Australia. Australia produces a remarkable 97% of the world’s supply of opal.

There’s so much behind the scenes work that goes into everything you see in our stores and online, and our team is proud to work together to create the final products that you love every day!
Recently, due to the bittersweet retirement of our beloved former owners, Kathy and Jeff Corey, there have been some exciting new hires within our executive team. Without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to our new Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Merchandising, and Vice President of Human Resources!
On September 24, 2022, Day’s Jewelers will participate in Jewelers for Children’s annual fundraising day. This event celebrates the success of the jewelry industry’s ongoing support for children in need and raises awareness and funds for the many charities that Jewelers for Children supports. 2022 marks the fifth year that Day’s Jewelers has participated in this fundraiser, raising over $15,000 for the organization in that time span. This year, our stores have pledged to donate 5% of sales on September 24th (JFC Day) to contribute with other JFC-partnered jewelers to fundraising efforts.

Recently, previously undiscovered grandidierite deposits have been found in Sri Lanka, and more have been discovered in Madagascar.
