  1. Sharing Planning Responsibilities for the Wedding

Everyone who has been a part of planning a wedding knows that there is just SO much to get done. From the booking of venues right down to picking out napkins, decisions need to be made and they need to be crossed off the checklist. Over the past couple of months, I have had to come to terms with the fact that I just cannot do it alone. And that this is OK! Actually, it is more than just OK, I recommend it. The perfectionist in me wants to assure that everything is done properly, but the relatively sane bride in me knows that divvying up responsibilities will allow for me to better enjoy the process. My realization came when it was time to put my Pinterest plans to action. I have so many ideas and so little time. Lucky for me, my support system is phenomenal. Todd's mom ...

  2. Invitations, Wedding Website, & All That Jazz!

Within weeks after Todd proposed last December, my mom had signed me up to receive every bridal magazine out there. It would be fair to say that she was (and still is) very excited that her only daughter had found her life partner! She sent Todd and me a package in the mail from TheKnot.com: A Groom's Guide and a binder titled Your Complete Guide to Wedding Planning'. While the Groom's Guide gave us a few good laughs, the binder andTheKnot.comin general has become my Bridal Bible over the past months. It tells me when I need to be making certain decisions and keeps me on track based off of a monthly timeline. From there, I decided to also use The Knot to create our wedding website. Creating the website ...

  3. What Gemstones and Metals are Good for Everyday Wear?

Every person likes something different when they are looking for fashion pieces of jewelry. Customers like different shapes and colors of stones along with different metals. There are certain metals and stones that can be worn on an everyday basis with no real potential for damage and then there are stones that should be worn with a bit more care and a little less often. Stones that can be worn everyday with little or no worry to you, the customer, are Diamonds, ...

  4. The Difference Between a Synthetic, Genuine, and Imitation Gemstone

What a great question to be asked! Also one that is hard to answer without confusing the guest. I can remember my first discussion on this when I began in the jewelry industry and I remember thinking that it simply did not make much sense. It took a few more times discussing the terms and asking many, many questions before I fully understood it, so I can relate to those struggling with these concepts. Here it goes, I am going to try to make this as simple and easy to understand by first defining, then giving examples of how the terms are used. Read along remembering one thing: Do not lock any gemstone into one definition...2 or 3 may apply to it. Keep that in mind and it should be a little easier to follow. What exactly is a genuine(natural)gemstone? This is the easiest of the definitions. Simply put: A genuine gemstone is one that was produced in the earth through natural processes. ...

  5. How to Include Your Fianc in the Wedding Planning

Hi everyone! With all of the chaos of wedding planning, it is sometimes easy to lose yourself in the planning rather than in the journey. I am admittedly guilty of this at times thus far. I have my binders of notes, Pinterest boards of inspiration, and spreadsheets of number crunching. I stress about my to-do list and everything that we have ahead of us. I talk wedding ALL THE TIME. But, what is much more important than my to-do list, is the man that all of this planning will lead me to be wed to. My fianc, Todd, is everything I could have ever hoped for; he's generous, thoughtful, loving, caring, intelligent, soft-spoken, active, fatherly, selfless, and incredibly handsome. He is my biggest supporter in life and it has come to no surprise that he has been my biggest supporter through wedding ...
