  1. Forevermark and Chili

This past weekend Gayle and I had the most amazing customer engagement story, that we had to write a blog to share our experience. As he began sharing his story with us he spoke about Rachel's beloved horse Chili of many years, whom she had to sell to acquire enough money for schooling. Luckily, she was able to sell Chili to some wonderful people who allowed her to visit on occasion. Sadly, the people could no longer afford to maintain the horse and she was sold to someone unknown, which broke Rachel's heart. One afternoon we met a beautiful young lady by the name of Rachel who came in, in search of the perfect diamond engagement ...

  2. Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue

Choosing your venue can be one of the biggest decisions you make when planning your big day. After all, your venue truly does set your stage! Todd and I had fun visiting different venues that we were considering, but we did a majority of our research online (venue websites, blogs, advice from other brides, etc) and had narrowed down our list to just a few possibilities beforehand. I highly suggest doing so, for your own sanity! After we spent the weekend in North Conway, New Hampshire, we drove over to Hardy Farm in Fryeburg, Maine and knew instantly that we had found our place! Here are a few reasons why: 1. The vibe: Hardy Farm has a newly renovated whitewashed barn that is absolutely breathtaking. The feel of the barn is everything ...

  3. Is a Winter Wonderland Wedding Right for You?

Hi lovelies! One of the first decisions a newly engaged couple must make is when the wedding will take place. Because Todd proposed in December, we realized that we had three options: rush our planning and get married in the summer of 2014, plan for a year and have a winter wedding, or wait a year and a half for a summer wedding in 2015. Of course, all of these options ultimately led us to being a happily married couple (eek!), but we did not want to wait 18 months and our dream venue was already completely booked for the upcoming summer. So, we began researching winter weddings and have never looked back. Before we made the decision to book a date in February, I could have never imagined the amount of strange looks we would receive for straying from a traditional summer wedding. So, I have put together a list of all of the reasons we give our skeptics in hopes that they may assist you in deciding if a winter wedding is right for you:   ...

  5. Lead Glass Filled Rubies Demystified!

Virtually everyone knows what a ruby is and can likely tell you what color it issupposed to be. Fewer people outside of a jeweler can tell you which birthstone of the month it is. A smaller group can tell you which anniversary it represents. Very few people actually know the lore and history of the ruby. Virtually no one knows about the treatments that a ruby may have used on it to make it more beautiful. In recent weeks there has been a lot of talk surrounding lead glass filled rubies. Mark Poulin, Manager of ...

  6. When Not to Wear Your Jewelry

We interviewed the goldsmiths at Day's Jewelers and asked what the most common mistakes an owner can make when it comes to their jewelry. #1. Sleeping in your jewelry Bed sheets are sold by thread count. The more threads, the softer the sheet- to us! Our jewelry, on the other hand finds any sheet a hazardous encounter. Imagine yourself having to cross through a grouping of thorny rose bushes. Most of us would rather not cross at all. Bed sheets again having all of the woven threads, can act like sandpaper on the tips and prongs on rings pendants, and bracelets. This leads to premature wear, requiring costly maintenance more often. The tips of the prongs have a tendency to become snagged and lifted when caught on threads. The more worn the tip of the prong, the more likely it will become caught, and possibly broken off. This can lead to loss of the stone it was holding. If ...
