  1. Day's Jewelers Team Treks Across Maine for American Lung Association

We had an amazing group of Day's Jewelers employees join the Trek Across Maine this year. The Trek is a 3 day, 180 mile bicycle tour across our State of Maine, to raise money for the American Lung Association. Our Day's team raised over $4000! After the amazing three day experience, a couple of the Day's Jewelers trekkers shared their thoughts. "Well, the trek has been over almost a week and the soreness is almost gone from my legsbackand hands but many fond memories will stay with me forever. Wow, what an experience. I met so many ...

  2. The Jewelry Box: Something Borrowed, Something Blue

As a buyer for Day's Jewelers I see so many different kinds of jewelry but the pieces I am always drawn to the most have a story behind them. Sometimes it is a story of how the piece was made and other times it is the story the piece represents, like the beautiful aquamarine and diamond ring my husband gave me on our wedding day to use as my "something blue." Ten days after we were married, my husband left for a military deployment in Afghanistan. I wore that ring every day while he was gone. It brought me unexplainable comfort when I was lonely during those months. To this day it helps me feel close to him when we are apart. This ring is a symbol of love and was the perfect "something ...

  3. Am I the Center of Your Universe?

After 46 years of marriage and 45 years in the jewelry business my beautiful wife has earned more than her share of amazing jewelry items. Over the last 10 years I thought she had lost some of her interest in jewelry. While sitting on the couch watching T.V. in November we had just watched our 1,000th jewelry commercial, when the Forevermark Center of My Universe ad started playing.   Since we sell Forevermark at Day's Jewelers, I asked her to give me her opinion of the commercial. She watched intently then turned to me and asked "Am I the center ...

  5. Generational DNA: Father to son, Father to sons

My Father was not in the watch business but he was one the finest men I have ever known. He was tough but fair, and a real tickler for doing the right things for the right reasons. Honesty, ethics, and virtue were at the very top of his list. He was very successful in his own right but was never driven by money; his motivation was mentoring people he respected and being a mentor to me and hundreds of employees that worshiped him as much as I did over his long career. I was very fortunate at a very early age to start my career in retail and then progressed into clothing design and manufacturing. Through several lucky events I became a partner of a very small action sports company by the name of Freestyle. ...
