Gold Filling actually refers to the act of bonding a sheet of gold onto the outside of a base metal with heat and pressure. Thus, a piece of gold filled jewelry is actually a piece of gold jewelry filled with another metal. This process offers the look and beauty of gold jewelry for a faction of the cost. The amount of gold on the piece must be at least 1/20 of the metal weight of the total item. Gold filled items with heavy wear will wear through and eventually show the base metal. Gold filled jewelry can have up to 100,000 times more gold on it than gold plated jewelry so it will last much longer.

Day's Jewelers offers a lifetime warrantee against defects in materials and workmanship on any piece of jewelry purchased from us. We will also replace any stones, free of charge, in case of loss from the mounting, provided the jewelry was inspected by Day's Jewelers within six months of the loss. This warrantee does not cover excessive abuse or normal wear.
Day's will professionally clean and inspect you jewelry at no charge any time. For warrantee purposes, these inspections must be verified on the Fine Jewelry Documentation of Purchase by a Day's Jewelers associate. If you have moved to another area, and are unable to bring it to a Day's Jewelers store, please contact us, and we will find a reputable jeweler in your area who will inspect it for you free of charge.
Loss or damage is not covered resulting from abuse, normal wear, mysterious disappearance or repair, sizing or any other work done on your jewelry other than by Day's Jewelers or another jewelry company that we have specifically authorized. Day's Jewelers will repair or replace your setting at our option, if it is defective in materials or craftsmanship, provided the semiannual inspections have been performed.
How to Obtain Warranty Services:
If your jewelry requires any service, simply return it together with your Fine Jewelry Documentation of Purchase to any Day's store. You can also mail the item back to us for warranty service. Please send it, properly insured, to DFJ, 88 Main Street, Waterville ME 04901.

Order Processing Time
- Most orders received before 2:00 PM EST will be shipped the same day.
- All items on our site are available for immediate shipping. However, it is possible that an item may be sold out just after placing your order. In this case we will notify you immediately.
- Allow up to 2 additional days for ring sizing if you select a ring size other than the indicated standard ring size. Refer to the care and sizing tab on the detail page for the standard ring size.
- Engraving requires an extra two business days before shipping
